Survey: How the U.S. Uses the Net
(11 Aug) A new survey by the Pew Internet & American Life Project shows that Americans go online mostly for maps and directions. Second to maps and directions is communication. “Seventy-nine percent of those online use the Net to contact family and friends.” The survey also reveals a growing dependence on search engines. About 20 percent of the American public goes online daily in search of answers.
