The Milwaukee Bar Association’s annual Law & Technology Conference will be held this Friday, bringing together legal professionals to explore the latest developments in legal tech, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The conference offers both in-person attendance at the MBA and a virtual option for remote participants.
I’ve attended this conference many times over the years – it’s always an excellent event. This year, I’m excited to be participating as a panelist!
I’ll be joining my UW Law Library colleague Kris Turner, along with Tim Pierce (Ethics Counsel, State Bar of Wisconsin) and moderator Matthew Stippich (Digital Intelligence) for a session titled “AI and the Law: Navigating the Ethical Crossroads.” As law librarians deeply engaged with both technology and legal ethics, Kris and I are looking forward to exploring the opportunities and challenges that generative AI brings to the legal profession.
The conference features sessions on everything from eDiscovery case law updates to cybersecurity for remote work. I’m especially interested in catching the morning session on AI legislative and judicial updates with State Senator Julian Bradley and Director of State Courts Audrey Skwierawski.
If you’re interested in the intersection of law and technology, I encourage you to attend. You can find full conference details and registration at: bit.ly/MBALawTech2024. 7 CLE credits are available, including 1 ethics credit.
